We think tracking money should
feel like texting a friend.
TallyMsg started as a personal annoyance: every expense app wanted us to open it, tap through menus, and fill in a form just to log a coffee. So we built the tracker we actually wanted to use, one that lives inside the chat apps already open on your phone all day.
Why we built it this way
Most budgeting apps fail for the same reason: people start strong, then quit within days because logging every purchase takes too much effort. You have to remember the app exists, open it, find the right screen, and type everything in by hand. That friction adds up, and the app ends up forgotten on page three of your home screen.
We noticed something simple: the apps people never forget to open are the ones they message friends and family on, Telegram and WhatsApp. So instead of building another app to download, we built TallyMsg to meet people where they already are. Send a message describing what you spent, in text, a photo of a receipt, or a voice note, and the AI reads it, picks a category, and updates your budget. No forms, no menus, no new habit to build.
The web dashboard exists for the moments you want the bigger picture: spending charts, category breakdowns, budget progress, and monthly reports, all generated automatically from the messages you have already sent.
We would rather do a small number of things well than bury the product under features nobody asked for. Logging, categorisation, budgets, and insight. That is the whole job, and we intend to keep it that way.

Friction kills habits
If logging an expense takes more than a few seconds, people stop doing it within a week. Every feature we ship starts with one question: does this make logging faster, or slower?
Privacy by default
TallyMsg only ever reads the messages you send to the bot, never your other chats, groups, or contacts. No bank logins, no data sold to third parties.
Honest, not hyped
No fake countdown timers, no surprise charges, no features locked behind vague "coming soon" promises. What you see on the pricing page is exactly what you pay.
